Zeolite For Cats & Dogs

zeolite-cats-dogs

Zeolite clinoptilolite referred to in Geek as the "boiling stone" is a mineral compound that has been used for centuries in Russia, China and other parts of Asia as a natural supplement for the prevention, treatment and support of health. Zeolite comes from volcanic areas and is formed from ash and seawater and its high absorbency helps with the exchange of ions and molecules whilst its alkalinising properties helps with the chelating of heavy metals and other toxins to expel them from the body.

Zeolite is more heavily used in commercial applications such as to help purify air and water, medically, as a fertiliser for agriculture and as a nutritional supplement for farming. But the unique benefit of Zeolite is that it has a negative electrical charge that attracts positive charges, which are heavy metals and toxins.  At the same time, the negative charge of Zeolite helps minerals in the body such as potassium, calcium, magnesium etc. be better distributed throughout the cells. Not only is Zeolite great as a cleanup mechanism to help sieve things out of the body but it also acts as a booster to the body.

Is Zeolite Safe for Pets?

Not all Zeolites are safe but Zeolite clinoptilolite is. It's been around for years, it's natural and is safe for use over a long period of time, for example, some pets can take up to 6 to 9 months to totally detox heavy metals or other toxins from the body. Zeolite is natural and gentle enough to use for a long time period whilst not adding more toxic load on the liver or lymph system.

Ensure you purchase natural Zeolite or Zeolite clinoptilolite and not any Zeolite products that have been modified or are synthetic in any way. There are over 150 synthetic Zeolite products on the market so be extremely careful that you're supplier is using natural Zeolite. Anything that doesn't have the integrity of the natural product is not to be used on your pet and will cause harm.

If you need to detox your pet always use natural real products. If you can't find natural Zeolite then consider using activated charcoalDiatomaceous Earth or Bentonite Clay instead. Do not be seduced by marketing if it's a synthetic product

Go exclusively for the food-grade natural product, anything else will harm your pet.

Best used as a supplement.

Ensure there are no contraindications with any medication. However, under veterinary guidance, it can be used to help combat and detox from cancer treatments.

Ziolite Dosage for Pets

Cats & Dogs

Zeolite is highly absorbent. Keep it in a cool place away from direct sunlight and in an airtight container to maintain its integrity. Keep away from metals. Use a wooden spoon, glass or ceramic cups, bowls etc. when using Zeolite.

Depending on what you're treating, administration can be once, twice or three times a day. Speak to your vet about your pet's individual needs, especially if using Zeolite to combat the effects of chemo etc.

Also, check the 'microns" of the product you're using. Microns will determine the level of absorption by the Zeolite and what areas of the body it's working on. As a rule of thumb, lower microns tend to work on a deeper level than a higher micron content. However, using Zeolite to help detox your pet irrespective of the micron content is a good natural choice that will help improve your pet's gut, which in itself is a huge step in the right direction for healing and maintaining good health.

Depending on what you're detoxing you might want to consider a 30, 60 or 90 day detox followed with a 30, 60, 90 maintenance plan to help fully eliminate any toxins. For acute or chronic illnesses, speak with your holistic vet to determine a dosage and the number of times per day for your pet's individual case, as this can be amended depending on what acute or chronic illness your pet is being treated for.

Once you start the detox process it's essential you stick to and be consistent with the plan in order to fully eliminate the toxins from your pet's body. Avoid a stop/start approach. Once your pet is detoxed, you can continue with a maintenance protocol or alternatively for long term health you could do a detox in the spring and summer months so that the body's pH is in balance.and aligns with the natural rhythm of nature in preparing the body for the summer and winter months.

General-purpose guidelines. Internal Use. The powder can be mixed with water, although it doesn't mix well it can help with those fussy pets as you can syringe (without the needle part) directly into your pet's mouth. Alternatively, the powder can be sprinkled and mixed into your pet's food. Or, gently rubbed onto your pet's gums. If you're using a solution mix follow the manufacturer's instructions for the number of drops per body weight.

General guide:

Cats: In powder form, for kittens start with 1/8 to ¼ tsp mixed with about a ¼ cup of clean filtered water. This can be directly syringed into your kitten's mouth.

For adult cats and depending on weight, start with ¼ up to ½ tsp mixed with about a ¼ cup of clean filtered water.

The dosages can be given up to three times a day. Syringe a small amount into your cat's mouth or alternatively sprinkle the powder directly onto wet food. Do not feed with dried food. Or, rub the powder into your pet's gums.

For maintenance reduce down to ¼ tsp daily.

For a solution please check the instructions but generally 5 to ten drops can be given twice or thrice daily for the first four to six weeks and then if the detox is going well and you see an improvement, either continue for a further number of weeks or reduce to twice daily.

For maintenance reduce down to one to three drops, once or twice daily depending on the toxicity of your pet's environment.

Dogs: In powder form, for small dogs and puppies start with ¼ to ½ tsp mixed with about a ¼ cup of clean filtered water.

For medium-sized dogs, start with ½ tsp up to 3/4 tsp.

For large and extra-large breeds, start with ½ tsp up to 1 tsp.

The dosages can be given up to three times a day. Syringe a small amount into your dog's mouth or sprinkle the powder directly onto food. Do not feed with dried food. Or, rub the powder into your pet's gums.

Zeolite is a supplement to help clear toxicity in the body but this needs to be maintained through a proper species appropriate diet, raw food. If your pet is not getting the right type of nutrition you'll always be fighting an uphill battle against illness and disease. Zeolite works to rebalance the natural pH of the body but this should be accomplished with the right type of raw food not the continued use of supplements. One of the best things you can do for your cat or dog's long term health is to feed them raw food.
